Hello Friends! :) Good Day Sunshine is an ongoing dream turned reality for me. I've been sewing with a passion since I was 5 or 6 (I remember making sleeping bags for Barbie and Ken, doll clothes for my sisters, and sewing countless buttons on scraps of fabric). My website is a creative outlet for my itch to create beautiful things.

All of the sewing techniques used to create my goods have either been self-taught, or learned through years of watching the wonderful women in my family create beautiful quilts and other crafts.

As for the tie-dying, soaps, and crochet... I tried tie-dying when I was in high school, but the rit dyes just made me mad because my beautiful work would wash out and fade. When I opened my website, I found procion fiber-reactive dyes. These babies won't even bleach out. Believe me. My hands are purple and/or green for weeks after twisting dyes. Although it's a messy process that I only attempt a few times a year, there's nothing better than the feeling I get when I open up a tie-dye to rinse and see the beauty of what I created.

The crochet started when I was about 10, then I put it down for a long, long time. About six years ago, I started making dread tams to sell, and now, I can watch TV, hold a screaming baby, drink a shake, and chew gum all while crocheting without a pattern! Crocheting is my relaxing craft. It takes little thought from me, it's almost an instict now. It forces me to sit still awhile.

Soapmaking becomes a passion. If you ever think you might want to just try it, be careful! It's super addicting. "Well, I'll try these scents together", or "Wonder what color this will make my soap?"...That's how it starts. The next thing you know your kitchen turns into one big experimental lab for cooking up new receipes for soap, and your dining room has a soap drying rack built into the wall. :) I do love to make the soap. I've been doing it for over 6 years now, and have narrowed my recipes to my family's and customer's favorites. I will ONLY use natural materials, and will NEVER use chemical fragrance oils or artificial colorants. Each bar is truly vegan, handmade by cold process with herbs, essential oils, and vegetable oils.

Over time, I have also included a hand-chosen line of unique imports from around the world. These goods are made by small co-ops of artisans that are given fair wages and/or prices for their goods. This allows them to continue their arts while supporting themselves and their families. It is a blessing to support these artisans from around the world! I do not offer items that are produced in sweatshops.

I love children, and I have lots of kids (Sadie, Sam, Donaven, and Owen) and try to instill a good work ethic into them while nurturing them with all of the love, cuddles, kisses, hugs and creativity they can handle. Being a WAHM allows me to be there and provide constant care for my little ones, while doing what I love to do, and earning a little money at the same time!
